Ford Windstar and Powerstroke love
AMSOIL
After using Mobil 1 for years, I decided to switch to AMSOIL. I always assumed
that "synthetics are synthetics" and everything I heard about AMSOIL was
exaggerated.
After installing AMSOIL 10w-30 motor oil in my 2001 Ford Winstar it quieted right down and smoothed out so much that my wife, Leslie, even noticed the change. She usually pays no attention to mechanical things, but she noticed it ran quieter and smoother. It runs and sounds like somebody replaced the V6 with a tiny turbine engine and it picked up a little more power too."
I put AMSOIL 15w-40 Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine oil in my 2002 Ford F250 Powerstroke Turbo Diesel engine and "it immediately got quieter."
It has better acceleration off the line than it had before, and better acceleration across its full range. I'm just thrilled, absolutely thrilled with this oil's performance in both of these vehicles.
I also use AMSOIL 20w-50 Motor oil in my 2002 Kawasaki KLX300 off-road dirt bike.

Jeep Cherokee gets 20% mpg improvement
We purchased a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Limited with a 6 cylinder and 27,000 miles
on it. After carefully monitoring our gas mileage, we were getting 12-13 mpg
around town and 17-18 mpg on trips.
We installed AMSOIL Series 2000 0w-30 motor oil, ATF, Series 2000 75w-90 Gear lube, 2-Stage air filter and Performance Improver.
We got lower operating temperatures, easier staring, smoother throttle response and better power. Best of all, with the price of gas at $1.65 per gallon our Jeep is now getting 17-18 mpg around town and 22 plus mpg on trips.
That's a 20% increase in mpg.

By following AMSOIL's recommendations, Bill currently has 396,000 miles on his Olds and plans to reach 400,000 miles very soon. Bill still drives his car to work every day and on regular business trips, and he tells his friends and colleagues about the advantages of AMSOIL over petroleum motor oil. In fact, Bill uses AMSOIL in his boat, lawnmower, chainsaw and other personal equipment.
50,000 mile drain interval
Mark Chalkley is a semi-retired computer programmer who also is a heavy
equipment operator.
Chalkley owns several vehicles and pieces of equipment that have benefited from his use of AMSOIL products. He uses a 1993 Dodge pickup truck with a Cummins engine to haul loads of more than 25,000 pounds. He also has a 1997 Ford Contour and an earth mover back hoe. “I use AMSOIL in everything,” Chalkley said. “I have never worn out anything that has had AMSOIL in it.”
He put AMSOIL Series 3000 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil in his 1996 Volkswagon Passat at about 10,000 miles, and put AMSOIL 75W-90 Gear Lube in the transmission shortly after. The Passat now has over 278,000 miles on it and it’s still running the same gear lube. Chalkley changes his motor oil in the Passat at 50,000 mile drain intervals. “There’s no by-pass kit on it either,” he said, “and I’ve never had a problem. Not a one.”
Chalkley adds nearly a quart of oil every 4,500 miles, and has noticed that oil consumption hasn’t changed in the six-year-old car at all since he switched to AMSOIL. In fact, oil consumption actually improved since that time. “It’s not burning any oil,” he said.
( Note: AMSOIL recommends a drain interval for the Series 3000 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil that is up to two times longer than manufacturer’s recommendations in passenger vehicles with diesel engines if extended drain intervals are supported by the findings of a used oil analysis program, or six months, whichever comes first.)
535,372 mile Chevy 396 engine
Francis Ormiston of Kismet, KS, had a 1969 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup that went
through some tough times on his farm. During the summer of 1986 one of his farm
hands "rolled" the truck. As a result, not wanting to do anything with it, (it
was totaled) he pulled it behind the barn and let it sit.
In August of 1989 he decided to replace a diesel engine with a gas engine in another pick up and decided to use the "69". At that point the 69 had 535,372 miles on it, 447,372 using AMSOIL 10w-40. The oil was changed once per year in the early spring. He decided that with 535,372 miles on it (never touched by a wrench) that it might be a good idea to rebuild it before installing it in the other truck.
Statement from the mechanic who rebuilt the engine:
"When we took this 396 engine apart, it was in the best condition of any engine
I have ever seen. It looked like it had about 80,000 miles instead of over
500,000. The bearings were not even worn to the brass, the rings were not worn
out, no sludge or carbon at all inside. I was impressed with the wear and
cleanliness of this engine and the miles it had on it."
32,700
miles on AMSOIL XL-7500 Motor Oil
Ken Irons from Texas, travels 200-300 miles per day in his 1992 Chevy Lumina. He
was changing his oil every two weeks. At the request of an AMSOIL dealer, Ken
installed AMSOIL XL-7500 motor oil and conducted a test.
At various intervals he would perform oil analysis to see how far he could travel before changing the oil. The test continued until he had gone 32,700 miles without an oil change. At that point, oil analysis showed there was degradation of the oil, but the amount of iron never exceeded 42 parts per million. Some cars on petroleum oil see more than that after 3,000 miles.
Irons was so impressed with AMSOIL, he became an AMSOIL dealer himself.
( Note: AMSOIL recommends a drain interval for the XL-7500 Motor Oil that is 7,500 miles or six months, whichever comes first.)
